I was nearing the end of the Koigu neck cozy when I realized that I made a mistake, way back at row 11. Holy [insert rude word here]. The mistake was quite noticeable - well, it was noticeable on Friday evening; it obviously was not noticeable back when I made it. And because it is a gift for a very knit-worthy person, I wanted it to be as perfect as possible. So…I frogged, cast on and started again.
I did not finish the neck cozy before the end of closing ceremonies, but I completed it to my satisfaction, which is more important to me. I think it turned out beautiful:

The Koigu KPPPM has great colors and feels so nice as it is knit. I am thinking of making another one of these as a gift for Aidan's teacher.
I did finish the beret well in time but when I tried it on, I hated it on me. It is too slouchy for my tastes and my head; as my friend Noelle said, "you either have to be really young (like college) or really old (like a grandma) to wear that type hat." I am neither, but I luckily found another use for it. I am donating it to a fundraiser for The Thacher School, which the daughter of a friend attends.
It did turn out well - both the color and yarn are scrumptious:

And here is the "medal" I received for competing and completing the Hat Halfpipe:

I am so proud (wiping tear from eye)!
