We had yet another fun day yesterday. We started the day at the pancake breakfast at the Beaver Lake Nature Center where we enjoyed delicious pancakes and sausages. Our next door neighbor Cindy and our across the street neighbor Sally joined us, and we had a good time eating and socializing. It was chilly and rainy, so we didn't stay to walk any of the trails.
James, Aidan and I then went to see the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team play Georgetown at 2 pm in the Carrier dome. We had such fun at the women's lacrosse game several weeks ago that we thought we would give the men's game a try. Again, we had a great time but we did have to pay for the privilege of attending the game and parking at the Dome (women's games are free). Yes, the men play a more physical game but I can't say that it is really much more interesting than the women's game. The fans were certainly more plentiful and, er, vocal at the men's game.
Aidan picked out a player during the warm-up to be his favorite player, and he chose well: #23 Jovan Miller. Jovan played an excellent game and Aidan was thrilled to get his autograph following the game. Jovan, along with several of the other players, was very kind, patient and gracious as they signed autographs for their excited fans.
We still don't know a lot about lacrosse, but we know that we like it. A lot. And after the SU men's basketball team went down in flames to Georgetown in the quarterfinals of the Big East Championship, it was nice to see the men's lacrosse team beat Georgetown 15-11. Go Orange!
