A lost his first tooth this week! It had been loose for about a week and we endured several instances of terribly traumatic bleeding and intense pain. And, yes, sarcasm is intended. The tooth finally came out during lunch on Wednesday. Thank goodness, the drama was kept to a minimum, the paramedics did not have to be called and the media was not alerted. The school nurse sent the tooth home in a little plastic container, so the tooth fairy would have an easy time finding the tooth during the night.
Wednesay night was when J was in Greensboro, so I had the tooth fairy gig all to myself. A nearly caught me when I was swapping the tooth for the money; he sat up in bed and said "Hi Mommy!" I apologized for waking him as I checked on him "before I went to bed", and as I tucked the covers around him I managed to slip the money under his pillow. Much to my relief, he was none the wiser and gleefully announced the tooth fairy's gift the next morning.
