Viewer discretion is advised

Look what James found hiding beneath one of the tomato plants in our garden:

It seems that while we are happy to see our garden, our garden may be a bit happy to see us, too!

Thanks to a photo posted on Facebook by the Beekman Boys earlier this week, we quickly learned that our new garden resident is a type of phallaceae or stinkhorn mushroom. Yes, a mushroom. With all the rain we've had over the past few weeks, our yard is sporting an amazing quantity and variety of mushrooms but the one lurking beneath the tomatoes is by far the most unusual.

Suddenly garden gnomes don't seem quite as creepy.
