On Tuesday, a letter came home from school informing us that a student in Aidan's class had head lice. No names were given but every child knew exactly who had it.
Here is the email message that I received today from Aidan's teacher:
"One of our students who left on Tuesday due to having lice, came back today. She came in a bit late after the other students were already settled in. From across the room, Aidan yelled to her, asking if she had gotten 'that lice situation all figured out.'
I immediately took him into the hallway and we discussed what happened. I truly believe this was an example of his impulsiveness, not necessarily him trying to be hurtful."
I will never, EVER tell Aidan that I laughed when I read what he said! Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. He was very upset about the whole incident, because he just wanted to find out if she was okay and it "came out all wrong." Yes, indeedy, it did. I think a future in the diplomatic corps is definitely at risk.
