A change in plans

James and I don't pretend that we know everything or that we always make the right decision the first time, but we are willing to admit when we are wrong or when we need to alter our plans.

We are admitting that this living apart thing just isn't working out. James misses Aidan and me, we miss James, and getting together for one weekend a month isn't enough. Aidan is particularly suffering from this temporary separation. While he is doing very well academically, his behavior at school is getting worse rather than better. Two trips to the office in two days last week was enough to convince us that we need to make some changes.

Our original plan was that Aidan and I would stay here in Georgia until the house sells, believing that leaving a house empty to sell is not a wise idea...but we have come to realize that living apart is not a wise idea for us. We are now planning to move Aidan, Spenser and me with a small subset of our stuff to New York during the Christmas holidays, whether the house has sold or not, so Aidan can start school in New York on the first day of school in 2010. When the house sells, we will return to Georgia to pack up the furniture and the rest of our stuff.

I feel so relieved. I now have a goal to work towards, and hopefully that light at the end of the tunnel is not a train.

Hey Cousin,

Have you seen or read about burying a St. Joseph statue to "help sell your house".

Oh, yes, St. Joe has been buried upside down in the front yard since late July - he just isn't working his mojo!
