Happy day

Today was a marvelous day. I ran the gamut of emotions from grinning ear-to-ear to crying to bouncing on my feet like a little child. Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United State of America and I couldn't be more pleased.

There are at least 3 gazillion people in the world who will describe the day in more eloquent words than I can possibly muster, so I am not even going to try. Here is just a smattering of my thoughts:
  • People people everywhere. Smiles!
  • Love Michelle’s outfit – girlfriend looks gorgeous.
  • Aretha’s hat is beautiful, just like her singing.
  • Love the quartet playing John Williams’ composition – so beautiful, so moving.
  • Chief Justice Roberts goofed up the oath? Oh for goodness' sake.
  • Excellent speech, really liked this line: "But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions – that time has surely passed."
  • They walked for a good part of the parade route - good for them!
James made an excellent observation when he said that although we were initially Hillary supporters and that she was/is immensely qualified, her election would not have inspired the hope that we are now experiencing...and hope is exactly what we need right now.
