I cut open the pumpkin but Aidan was in charge of scraping out the guts:

After I cut out the eyes and mouth to Aidan's specifications, he further decorated the pumpkin using a marker:
Tada! Here is the finished pumpkin - that is Aidan on the right!

Well that is a very fine looking jack o' lantern! Yesterday must have been pumpkin carving day for lots o' families! When Aidan is a little older, he might like the concept of using cordless power tools to do the rough 'carving' (see my blog).
Is that a goatee? and love the glasses too LOL - cute!
