This is March, right?

Today is the 8th day of March. Right? I live in Georgia, right? So why was there snow swirling outside my window?

It snowed off and on this morning, although nothing too heavy and it only stuck to things like deck furniture. But I still wonder why it even snowed at all - it is March for goodness' sake! I have lived in the south long enough that I expect March to be the month where the transition to warmer weather starts. In fact, just the other day I was trying to decide if it was time to make the big closet switch. Good thing I didn't; it never got much above 42 degrees today and I needed that waffle weave hoodie.

The scene out our back windows was so odd this morning: snow flurries among the flowering tulip and Bradford pear trees, blooming daffodils and budding maple trees. The finches out on their thistle feeder looked downright annoyed at the cold wind and fluffed up their feathers so much that they looked liked balls o' birds.

Come on, spring!
